The Best Client
Working with Persia and Caroline to sell Persia’s townhome was one of my best experiences. Persia is 90 years old and as sharp as a razor’s edge, genuine, and truly someone special. When I first met her, she glowed with a fire and an intensity that few people have, a reminder that some people are truly alive. She showed love and care for Annie and me, making us feel like we were doing something good, not just selling a home or working in the business. Sometimes the universe, in its swirling ways, brings people together, and I am glad that a person like Persia exists. She gave me a gift by letting me pick a book out of her home library, a sprawling space that covered most of the main floor of the home. I chose a biography on Harry Truman; I am a total history nut. She then signed it with a message, “Enjoy with care,” Persia. After reading, I will keep the book on my shelf forever. Persia is a lifelong rebel, independent, with an authenticity I have never run across. I will spend my whole life trying to match her on these qualities. Caroline is an unbelievable daughter, sacrificing a lot to take care of her mother. She moved from out of state to help her mom wrap things up in Colorado and get her situated into the next phase of her life. I learned about selflessness and duty to one’s parents from Caroline. Grateful is a word that is thrown around and overused. I typically avoid saying “I’m grateful” unless I genuinely feel that way. Persia and Caroline are two of the best people I have ever met. I am grateful I met them.
